The Russian handball team will play its final match against China on May 16. Earlier, the Russian national team defeated the Hong Kong team and China’s youth team.

In 2022, Russian national teams and clubs were suspended from participating in international tournaments for an indefinite period due to the situation in Ukraine. In March 2026, the International Handball Federation’s council decided to allow junior and youth teams to compete.
