Mikhail Shaidorov won the Olympic gold in men’s singles with 291.58 points

MILAN, February 14. /TASS/. Figure skater Mikhail Shaidorov has become the first Kazakh athlete to win the gold medal at Winter Olympics since 1994.

Shaidorov won the Olympic gold in men’s singles with 291.58 points (92.94 + 198.64).

Up until now, only one Kazakh athlete ever secured an Olympic gold medal, namely cross-country skier Vladimir Smirnov, who won the 50-km race in 1994.

Shaidorov is 21 years old. His head coach is Russia’s 1994 Olympic Champion Alexey Urmanov.
