"Reflecting on your victories, your sporting achievements, and the active, vibrant lives you have, one realizes that human potential is truly limitless and that the challenges you have faced cannot break a strong spirit," Putin said in his address to the Paralympic team at the state awards ceremony.

"We are not just proud of you - we are deeply and genuinely inspired by you!" Putin added.

According to him, "the very act of engaging in sports by a person with health limitations serves as inspiration for millions of people." "You are, without any exaggeration, unique individuals - heroes in both sports and life.
