TASHKENT, November 30. /TASS/. Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov has been elected president of the International Fencing Federation (FIE), a TASS correspondent reports.
The election took place in Uzbekistan’s capital of Tashkent. Usmanov got 120 votes, while his rival, Swedish Fencing Federation President Otto Drakenberg, received 26.
Usmanov, 71, first took the helm of the FIE in 2008 but decided to step down on March 1, 2022.
