Russia’s Kasatkina advances to finals of Charleston Open

The Russian tennis player defeated Jessica Pegula of the United States
MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. Russia’s Daria Kasatkina defeated Jessica Pegula of the United States to reach the finals of the WTA Charleston Open tennis tournament.
Kasatkina, seeded fourth, won the event 6:4, 4:6, 7:6 (7:5). Pegula was seeded 1st.
In the finals, the Russian player will face the winner of the match between Maria Sakkari of Greece and Danielle Collins of the US.
Kasatkina, 26, is currently ranked 11th in the WTA Rankings and has six WTA tournament titles to her name. To date, her best result in Grand Slams was in 2022 when she reached the semifinals of the French Open. She was also part of the Russian team that won the 2021 Billie Jean King Cup.
