Russia’s Medvedev through to finals at Indian Wells tennis tournament

Daniil Medvedev is currently fourth in the ATP Rankings

MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. Russia’s top tennis player Daniil Medvedev beat US Tommy Paul in an Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) semifinal match at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, California, to cruise to the finals.

The 4th-seeded Medvedev defeated Paul 1-6; 7-6 (7-3); 6-2. The men’s final on Sunday will see the Russian tennis player and Carlos Alcaraz of Spain face off for the winner’s trophy.

Medvedev, 28, is currently fourth in the ATP Rankings. In 2022, the top Russian racket spent sixteen weeks as the number one player in the world. He is the 2021 US Open Champion and has 20 ATP tournament titles under his belt. He won five of these 20 titles in 2023. Also, in 2021, he won the Davis Cup as well as the ATP Cup playing for the Russian national team.
