Games of the Future free from political circumstances, double standards — Putin
The president said that 2,000 athletes from more than 100 countries will participate in the tournament
KAZAN, February 21. /TASS/. The international tournament called the Games of the Future are completely free. Of political circumstances, discrimination and double standards, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the tournament’s opening ceremony.
"The Games of the Future are free from political circumstances, any kind of discrimination and double standards," the president said. "I am sure that true sport will reign on the venues of the Games."
The president said that 2,000 athletes from more than 100 countries will participate in the tournament.
"There is no doubt that the competition of the best of the best will be an exceptionally exciting event and will win the hearts of spectators, will help discover new bright stars," Putin said.
The Games of the Future will last until March 3. Competitions will be held in new disciplines and use the latest technologies, take place in digital environment, while physical activity will also be part of the blend. Competitors will make use of the latest achievements in cybersports, robotics, augmented and virtual reality, information technology and artificial intelligence.
