Games of the Future should be recognized internationally, Kyrgyz president believes
Sadyr Japarov expressed gratitude for the invitation to the tournament's opening ceremony
KAZAN, February 21. /TASS/. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov expects that the international multisport tournament Games of the Future held in Kazan will soon gain world recognition.
"I would like to wish this unique event a success and also express confidence that it will be widely recognized internationally and will win the hearts of sports fans," he said in Kazan during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Japarov expressed gratitude for the invitation to the tournament's opening ceremony.
The Kyrgyz leader also wished success to the Russian president in the upcoming election campaign.
Japarov came to Kazan on October 20 at Putin’s invitation, he is in Russia on a two-day working visit. During this period of time he is also going to meet with Tatarstan’s head Rustam Minnikhanov.
The inaugural cybersport Games of the Future will be hosted by the Russian city of Kazan between February 21 and March 3, 2024. The Games will feature entirely new sports disciplines combining advanced technology, the digital environment and physical activity.
The competitions are designed to use cutting-edge developments in cybersports, robotics, both augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR), information technology (IT) and artificial intelligence (AI).
According to organizers of the 2024 Games of the Future, some 2,000 athletes from over 100 countries are set to compete in 21 innovative sports disciplines.
