MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. The municipal authorities of Stockholm support the initiative of Sweden’s National Olympic Committee (NOC) to bid for hosting the 2030 Winter Olympic Games, the press office of the Swedish NOC announced in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the municipal authorities of the Swedish capital are ready to ink a deal on implementing plans to hold the 2030 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sweden.
Similar agreements were signed earlier by the municipal authorities of the Swedish towns of Falun, Are and Ostersund.
Sweden first voiced its intention to bid for the 2030 Winter Olympic Games in February 2023 and the government later supported the country’s NOC, pledging to provide it with the required financial assistance.
Other countries who have shown interest in hosting the 2030 Winter Olympic Games include the United States, France and Switzerland. The National Olympic Committee of France announced earlier this month that it had already submitted its official bid to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
