Russian team to do its best to win match with Finland, head coach says
One match does not solve everything but the Russian team will endeavor to turn the Finnish team aside, Stanislav Cherchesov noted
ST. PETERSBURG, June 13. /TASS/. The Russian football team will do everything necessary to win the match with the Finland’s team during the group stage of the 2020 UEFA Euro Cup, head coach Stanislav Cherchesov said at the press conference.
"There is no pressure, we are in the tournament," Cherchesov said. "We wanted to play better as regards the result and the content. We wait for the Finnish team on June 16 and then there will be the match in Denmark. One match does not solve everything but we will endeavor to turn the Finnish team aside," he noted.
The Russian team lost the first match to the Belgian team 0:3, while Finland won the match with Denmark with the 1:0 score.
The Belgian team now tops the Group B standings, followed by the Finnish team. The Russian team will play with the Finnish team in St. Petersburg on June 16 and then in Copenhagen with the Denmark’s team on June 21.
