Russia’s Daria Kasatkina holds on to her WTA No. 22 spot
The top five female tennis players in the world have remained unchanged
MOSCOW, April 8. /TASS/. Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina has clung to her No. 22 spot in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) world ranking in the latest updated WTA rankings published on the association’s official website on Monday.
The top five female tennis players in the world have remained unchanged, with Japan’s Naomi Osaka continuing to dominate the ranking while Romania’s Simona Halep is trailing her in second place. Hot on their heels are Czech Petra Kvitova, Germany’s Angelique Kerber, and Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina, in third, fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Among the Russians who entered the top-100, the twenty-one year-old Kasatkina had racked up 2,355 points. Meanwhile, others there included Russian superstar Maria Sharapova also retaining her No. 28 spot in the ranking with 1,706 points. Further down the list, we have Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova dropping one spot and is now ranked 34th in the world (1,510 points). Ekaterina Alexandrova comes in at No. 57, while Evgeniya Rodina is No. 69, Anastasia Potapova (71), Margarita Gasparyan (72), and Veronika Kudermetova (83), with Vitalia Diatchenko closing off the bottom end of the list (95) in the WTA rankings.
