It was Lebedev’s second bout after a pause that lasted more than one year

MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/. Russia’s former IBF/WBA/WBC cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev (32-2, 23 KOs) defeated Mike Wilson of the United States (19-1, 8 KOs) via unanimous decision (117-111, 119-109 and 119-109) in Monte Carlo on Saturday night.

It was Lebedev’s second bout after a pause that lasted more than one year. On September 7, Lebedev, 39, defeated Turkey's Hizni Altunkaya in Russia’s Urals city of Chelyabinsk.

Meanwhile, WBA has ordered unified cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk of Ukraine to face Lebedev until March 10, 2019, the Russian boxer’s manager said on Sunday.

Denis Lebedev has the WBA cruiserweight Champion-in-Recess title. He held the belt since December 2012 and defended it seven times, but WBA demoted Lebedev to 'champion in recess' in February due to his inaction.

In the co-main event of the day, former WBA international heavyweight champion Alexander Ustinov of Russia (34-2, 25 KOs) lost to IBO intercontinental heavyweight champion Michael Hunter (15-1, 10 KOs). Hunter’s victory by TKO in the ninth round gave him the vacant WBA international heavyweight title.
