Reported missing England football fan found safe and sound in Moscow hotel
The officers launched a search operation to locate the British national
MOSCOW, July 12. /TASS/. Moscow City police have spotted in a Moscow hotel the British football fan who was reported missing in Russia by his relatives, the Russian capital’s police told TASS on Thursday.
"Moscow City’s police officers have taken measures to locate whereabouts of that person. He is staying in one of the hotels in Moscow," the police spokesperson said. "It was established that no unlawful acts had been committed against him. The UK Embassy has been informed about the whereabouts of the given person."
According to the spokesperson, the police were alerted by Douglas Moreton’s relatives, who claimed that they could not get in contact with him. The officers launched a search operation to locate the British national, he said.
Moreton was earlier reported to have left Samara for Moscow by train on July 10. He arrived at Moscow’s Kazansky train station on July 11, according to CCTV cameras.
