CSKA loses 1:4 to Arsenal in UEFA Europa League quarter-final

The return match with Arsenal is scheduled to be played in Moscow on April 12

LONDON, April 6. /TASS/. Russia’s CSKA Moscow FC lost 1:4 to Arsenal FC in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League’s quarter-final tie at the Emirates Stadium in London on Thursday.

Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette each scored twice in the opening 35 minutes, on 9th, 28th and 23rd (penalty), 35th, respectively. CSKA’s Aleksandr Golovin got an away goal, bending a free-kick into the top-right corner (15th).

CSKA and Arsenal were paired in the 2006/07 UEFA Champions League group stage, the Russian team winning 1-0 in Moscow with a Daniel Carvalho free-kick, while the return game in London ended 0-0.

CSKA is the only football club from Russia to reach the quarterfinals stage of the current UEFA Europa League tournament. The return match with Arsenal is scheduled to be played in Moscow on April 12.
