Russian athletes should go to 2018 Olympics under any scenario — Deputy PM

Arkady Dvorkovich said that the IOC's decision to ban the Russian national team from the 2018 Olympics was unfair

LONDON, December 6. /TASS/. Russian athletes should go to the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, despite IOC (the International Olympic Committee) decision to bar the whole national team from the Games and allow the participation of Russian athletes under a neutral flag, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said on Wednesday.

"We all know the athletes who will be going to the Olympics and their uniform will have the white, red and blue colors," Dvorkovich said. "We will all know that they will be representing Russia. I believe that they should go."

"The IOC actions pose a manifestation of disrespect to the Olympic Games," he said. "This was an unfair decision."
