Russian state broadcaster says will not broadcast 2018 Winter Olympics without Team Russia

The International Olympic Committee has barred the Russian team from the 2018 Olympic Games

MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. The All-Russia State Broadcasting Company [VGTRK] will not broadcast the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, in the absence of Team Russia from the event, the VGTRK press service said on Tuesday.

"We do not change our position we will not broadcast the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang in the absence of the Russian National Team there," it said.

On Tuesday, the International Olympic Committee banned the Russian team from participation in the 2018 Olympic Games and Russian athletes will have an opportunity to take part there only under a neutral flag.

The Games will be held from February 5 through to February 2018.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, the Director General of Gazprom Media company said earlier the Games in Pyeongchang would not evoke interest among Russian audiences if the Russian team was banned from them.
