MOSCOW, March 14. / TASS /. The cost of preparation for the World Cup in Russia in 2018 may be increased by 4.7 billion rubles ($79.1 mln), according to a draft government resolution, published on the official portal of legal information.
The spending may be increased by using the funds from the federal budget.
According to the draft, the costs will increase from 638.84 billion rubles ($10.7 bln) to 643.55 billion rubles ($10.8 bln).
The current draft document envisages the following breakdown of costs: 350.45 billion rubles ($5.9 bln) will be allocated from the federal budget, 92.21 billion rubles ($1.5 bln) from regional budgets, and 196.18 billion rubles ($3.3 bln) will be granted by legal entities.
The matches of the 2018 World Cup will be held from June 14 to July 15 at 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Sochi and Rostov-on-Don.
