DOHA, November 26. /TASS/. France beat 2-1 Denmark in a group stage match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup at Stadium 974 in Doha on Saturday, which was watched by 42,860 spectators, and booked a spot in the knockout stage.
Kylian Mbappe scored twice (61’ and 86’) to give France win. Andreas Christensen (68’) netted the ball for Denmark.
France tops Group D with six points, so it becomes the first national team to secure a spot in the World Cup knockout rounds. France is followed by Australia (3 points), Denmark (1 point) and Tunisia (1 point).
Qatar is hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup between November 20 and December 18 at eight stadiums in five cities across the country, namely in Doha, Lusail, Al Wakrah, Al Khor and Al Rayyan.
The eight host stadiums are: Al Bayt Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Lusail Iconic Stadium, Stadium 974, Education City Stadium, and Al Janoub Stadium.
