France beats Australia in Qatar’s 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage

The meeting ended with the score 4:1

AL WAKRAH /Qatar/, November 23. /TASS/. France won 4-1 over Australia in Group D’s round 1 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The match, attended by 40,875 spectators, was held at the Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah late on Tuesday.

Adrien Rabiot (27’), Olivier Giroud (32’, 71’) and Kylian Mbappe netted the ball for France. Graig Goodwin scored Australia’s only goal nine minutes into the game.

Qatar is hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup between November 20 and December 18 at eight stadiums in five cities across the country, namely in Doha, Lusail, Al Wakrah, Al Khor and Al Rayyan.

The eight host stadiums are: Al Bayt Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Lusail Iconic Stadium, Stadium 974, Education City Stadium, and Al Janoub Stadium.
