Russian Anti-Doping Agency received five Therapeutic Use Exemption requests in January

In case of having the request granted, an athlete is allowed to consume drugs containing substances prohibited by WADA

MOSCOW, February 16. /TASS/. The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) received five applications from national athletes last month requesting TUE (Therapeutic Use Exemption) permissions, the agency’s press office announced to TASS on Tuesday.

"RUSADA received five TUE requests from athletes in January," according to the press service.

Last year, RUSADA received 67 applications from Russian athletes requesting permissions under the Therapeutic Use Exemption regulation. In 2019 this number stood at 104.

RUSADA reported earlier that it received 98 applications for the Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) permits in 2017 and 101 TUE applications in 2018.
