Spartak Moscow football club in talks on trading striker Kokorin to Italy’s Fiorentina FC

MOSCOW, January 20. /TASS/. Russian football club Spartak Moscow and Italy’s Fiorentina FC are holding talks on the transfer of Russian forward Alexander Kokorin, Anton Fetisov, a spokesman for Spartak FC, told TASS on Wednesday.

"The clubs are holding direct talks on the transfer without the participation of football agents," Fetisov said.

In 2019, Spartak Moscow FC topped the list of Russian football clubs in terms of bonuses paid to football agents for players’ transfers (over $14.2 million).

Kokorin, 29, joined Russian Premier League’s (RPL) Spartak Moscow FC in 2020. This season he booked two goals and one assist in eight matches.

Before moving to Spartak, Kokorin played for Zenit St. Petersburg FC winning with the club the Russian Championship (2018/2019 season), the Russian Cup (2015/2016 season) and the Russian Super Cup (2016).

Playing for the Russian national football team, Kokorin appeared in 48 matches scoring 12 goals.

Florence-based Fiorentina FC is currently ranked 14th in the Italian Championship standings with 18 points after 18 matches.
