TEL-AVIV, April 28. /TASS/. Russian judokas won four gold, one silver, and three bronze medals and topped the table at the 2018 European Judo Championships ended in Tel Aviv.
France was the second with three gold and two silver medals and Belgium was third with one gold and one silver.
Russia’s Mikhail Igolnikov captured gold in the closing day of the event in the -90 kg category, defeating Nemanja Majdov from Serbia. Bronze medals went to Nikoloz Sherazadishvili from Spain and Theodoros Tselides from Greece.
Tamerlan Bashev from Russia was second to Lukas Krpalek from the Czech Republic in the +100 kg category. Henk Grol from the Netherlands and Stephan Hegyi from Austria got bronze.
Gold medals at the tournament were earlier won by Islam Yashuev (-63 kg), Irina Dolgova (-48 kg) and Natalia Kuziutina (-52 kg). Anastasiia Konkina (-57 kg), Aslan Lappinagov (-81 kg), and Beslan Mudranov (-60 kg).
The 2019 European Judo Championships will take place in Minsk.
