Russian Orthodox Church leader urges everyone to make step toward Christ in Easter address

MOSCOW, April 8. /TASS/. The best way to spend the Easter holidays would be reading the Gospel, taking care of other people and making steps toward faith, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill said in his televised Easter address.

The Russian Orthodox Church celebrates Easter on Sunday.

"On these joyful days, I would like to call on everyone - both believers and non-believers - to take the Gospel and read it from the start to the end. Try to take a closer look at the image of the Savior. I have no doubt that it will give you a fresh look not only on yourself, but also on the world around you. And your heart will be filled with the same joy that the disciples once felt when they saw their resurrected teacher," Patriarch Kirill said.

"On those joyful days, I also call on everyone to take care of those around us and even of those who are far away, but need our help," he continued.

"May the Easter joy fill every soul and every home, so that all of us could witness the Resurrection of Christ not only in word but also in deed," the Russian church leader said.
