MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. Moscow’s famous Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts signs agreements with major US museums, such as the Getty Center and LACMA, Director Marina Loshak told reporters on Tuesday.
"We are now signing cooperation agreements with major American museums, in particular with the Getty Center and LACMA," she said. According to Marina Loshak, a joint collection of paintings is planned as early as next year in teamwork with LACMA.
Loshak explained that yearly, curators from the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and LACMA will be choosing one Russian or US painter, who will prepare and put into practice special projects.
"We already have an idea about the painters who will be the first to take part in this project. Among them are Jonas Mekas, Harry Hill, Irina Nakhova, Andrey Guryanov, Anton Kuryshev and others," Loshak said.
She specified the program aimed at "shaping and popularizing a collection of media art in the museum" will be sponsored by Mail.Ru Group.
As for the Getty Center, the Pushkin Museum plans to sign "agreements on educational and restoration programs," with it she added.
