Moscow to put up more than 1,000 Christmas trees for winter festival

More than 500 natural and 620 artificial trees will decorate the Russian capital

MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. More than 1,100 public New Year trees will be put up in Moscow ahead of the traditional winter festival, Journey to Christmas, the event’s organizers said on Tuesday.

"The installation of Christmas trees began on December 12," the organizers said.

More than 500 natural and 620 artificial trees will decorate the Russian capital. Most of them will be put up in Moscow’s central streets and boulevards.

The Manezhnaya Square next to the Kremlin will be turned into a labyrinth of over 350 Christmas trees.

The Journey to Christmas festival will be held from December 22 to January 14 at 79 sites in all parts of the city.
