Oscars 2017: Casey Affleck, Emma Stone win Academy awards in best actor and actress

NEW YORK, February 27. /TASS/. Casey Affleck was awarded the 2017 Oscar in the Best Actor in a Leading Role for the film ‘Manchester by the Sea."
The other nominees in this category were Andrew Garfield (Hacksaw Ridge), Ryan Gosling (La La Land), Viggo Mortensen (Captain Fantastic) and Denzel Washington (Fences).
Best actress
Emma Stone has become the Best Actress, according to the Academy for her part in "La La Land". The film has won an Oscar in Best Picture nomination.
The other nominees in this category were Isabelle Huppert ‘Elle,’ Ruth Negga ‘Loving,’ Natalie Portman ‘Jackie’ and Meryl Streep ‘Florence Foster Jenkins.’
'La La Land' directed by Damien Chazelle with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone was nominated in total for 14 Oscars, including Best Director and Original Screenplay.
Previously, only two films were considered for such number of nominations - 'Titanic' and 'All About Eve'.
'Manchester by the Sea,' directed by Kenneth Lonergan, was nominated for six awards in total, including Casey Affleck’s Best Actor nomination for playing an uncle who is asked to take care of his teenage nephew after the boy's father dies.
