NEW YORK, October 9. /TASS/. A passenger train has derailed in the south of New York state, near the community of New Hyde Park, injuring up to 100 people, Reuters reported citing local police.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Long Island Rail Road confirmed the incident and said that railroad traffic has been temporarily suspended.
