MOSCOW, September 2. /TASS/. Uzbekistani embassy in Moscow has lowered the national flag over the embassy to the territory of the compound to half-mast. Russian around the flag itself is a black ribbon.

Black ribbons have been ties to the flags over another entrance to the embassy building.

The situation around the diplomatic mission is quiet and there has been no reiforcement of security measures.

Uzbekistani government said in a report earlier on Friday the country's President, Islam Karimov, had died in Tashkent at the age of 78.
