Burglar makes off with over half million bucks from northeast Moscow apartment
A law enforcement source says the burglar gained entry to the apartment on the 16th floor from the roof with the help of mountain climbing gear
MOSCOW, August 29. /TASS/. An apartment belonging to an unemployed woman in the northeast of Moscow was burglarized, and among the valuables stolen was a safe containing $500,000, the police press office told TASS on Monday.
"A female victim alerted the police at 21:20 the other day, about the theft of a safe from an apartment in a residential building located on Ilimskaya Street. According to her, an unidentified person stole a safe where she had kept roughly US currency totaling over $500,000, or 33 million rubles," the police press office stated.
The press office stated that a criminal case into a large-scale theft has been opened.
