Interstate Aviation Committee experts finish work at Il-76 crash site in Irkutsk region
The bodies of eight crew members of the Russian emergencies ministry’s Ilyushin Il-76 plane have been found at the crash site
IRKUTSK, July 3. /TASS/. Specialists from the Interstate Aviation Committee have finished work at the crash site of a Russian emergencies ministry’s Ilyushin Il-76 plane in the Siberian Irkuts region, Deputy Emergencies Minister Leonid Belyayev said on Sunday.
"Specialists from the Interstate Aviation Committee finished their work at the crash site. They recovered necessary instruments and left for Irkutsk. The Investigations Committee continues its work at the crash site," he said.
According to earlier reports, rescuers have found two flight recorders from the crashed plane. A source in the Interstate Aviation Committee told TASS the flight recorders will be decoded at the Committee’s laboratory in Moscow.
An emergencies ministry spokesman said non one from among the ten crew members is likely to survive.
Two flight recorders have been found
The bodies of eight crew members of the Russian emergencies ministry’s Ilyushin Il-76 plane have been found at the crash site in Russia’s Siberian Irkutsk region, Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said on Sunday.
"As of now, two flights recorders and the bodies of eight crew members have been found," he told journalists.
He said the rescue operation at the crash site will be continues round-the-clock.
Meanwhile, chief of the ministry’s Siberian regional center Sergei Didenko said that bodies and fragments of the bodies of the crash victims will be taken to Irkutsk tomorrow.
The flight recorders will be decoded at the Interstate Aviation Committee’s laboratory in Moscow.
The Il-76 plane of the Russian emergencies ministry, which took part in extinguishing a wildfire in the Irkutsk region, disappeared from radars in July 1. The plane was spotted lying on a hill slope some four kilometers south of the settlement of Rybny Uyan in the small hours on Sunday. The entire crew of ten died.
