Pamela Anderson asked to help rehabilitation of seals in Russia
The fund will send similar invitations to a number of Russian and foreign animal rights activists, including Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio
ST. PETERSBURG, April 6. /TASS/. The Russian fund for ringed seals in the Baltic Sea on Wednesday sent a letter to Hollywood star and animal rights activist Pamela Anderson, inviting her to join the organization.
The fund focuses on the rehabilitation of the seals, living in the Gulf of Finland, the easternmost arm of the Baltic Sea.
"We know your charity campaigns well and highly appreciate your efforts," the fund’s director Vyacheslav Alekseyev wrote. "We invite you to become a member of the fund’s council."
The fund will send similar invitations to a number of Russian and foreign animal rights activists, including Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
The rehabilitation center can house up to 40 animals at the same time. More than 70 seals underwent a treatment since the fund’s establishment in 2014.
