Russian universities rise in worldwide subject rankings
Eight Russian universities took 20 places in the top 100 this year. In 2015, four Russian universities won eight places in the largest-ever world subject ranking covering 42 disciplines
MOSCOW, March 22. /TASS/. Russian universities have strengthened their positions in the 2016 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject published on Tuesday.
Eight Russian universities took 20 places in the top 100 this year. In 2015, four Russian universities won eight places in the largest-ever world subject ranking covering 42 disciplines.
The Lomonosov Moscow State University was featured in the top 100 for 12 subjects and was ranked number 17 in the world for linguistics. The St. Petersburg State University is in the top 100 for two subjects and took the 26th place for engineering - mineral and mining.
The world’s top universities in most subjects are the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge and the Harvard University.
