Russian plane missing wheel successfully lands in Siberia

No one was injured during the landing, the local emergencies ministry said adding that psychologists are assisting the passengers

YEKATERINBURG, March 9. /TASS/. A plane of Russia’s Yamal airline that lost a wheel during takeoff has successfully landed in Tyumen, Western Siberia, the airport’s press service told TASS.

"The plane has landed, evacuation of passengers is underway," a spokesperson said.

No one was injured during the landing, the local emergencies ministry said adding that psychologists are assisting the passengers.

Boeing 737-400 lost the wheel during takeoff on Wednesday. The plane was traveling to Novy Urengoy, in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region, with 148 passengers and 7 crew members onboard. The captain decided to land at the airport of departure.
