Russian adaptation of ‘Game of Thrones’ inspired by Romanov dynasty — filmmakers
A full-screen feature film will be released before the TV series in late 2017
MOSCOW, February 8. /TASS/. The Russian analogue of ‘Game of Thrones’ fantasy TV series will feature the history of the House of Romanov which reigned in the country for more than 300 years, the head of the Russian Film Group said on Monday.
"The Golden Age historical project may be called an analogue to ‘Game of Thrones," said Alexey Petrukhin. "We have studied this project’s business model, had many contacts with ‘Game of Thrones’ makers. We will also have several cameramen and directors responsible for different families and characters."
The project will consist of 12 seasons with 12 episodes in each, starting from the Time of Troubles period between 1598 and 1613, when the Romanov dynasty came to power.
A full-screen feature film will be released before the TV series in late 2017. The first season of the TV project will be launched in early 2018.
