About 160 competitors from six countries took part in the annual sled dog race run called On the land of Sampo that was held on January 23-24 in Russia's Petrozavodsk in republic of Karelia. Racers from Russia, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania and Belarus took part in the event. Dogs competed over short (6 and 10 kilometers) and medium (40 kilometers) distances. The sled dog race held in Karelia since 2012.
