Putin admits he sometimes asks for advice on Russian language grammar rules
The president said he usually consulted Lyudmila Verbitskaya, the president of the Russian Academy of Education, a linguist and a philologist
MOSCOW, December 23 /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin sometimes asks linguists for advice whenever he has doubts about Russian grammar or punctuation. Putin told a meeting of the Russian State Council on Wednesday that he usually consulted Lyudmila Verbitskaya, the president of the Russian Academy of Education, a linguist and a philologist.
"There were cases when I had to phone her from the board of a plane," the president said. "We were on our way to some event and my colleagues and I could not agree how we should put something right. You can ask Lyudmila about anything, and she will immediately answer any of your questions. She knows everything," Putin said thanking Verbitskaya who was also present at the meeting for her help.
"You are the only one who asks me for advice," she said.
