SIMFEROPOL, December 10. /TASS/. Crimean prosecutor Natalia Poklonskaya on Thursday ordered local veterinaries to check media reports about the death of a third white tiger cub at the zoo in the resort city of Yalta.

"They should either confirm the cub’s death and establish its cause or make sure that the animal is kept in normal conditions and nothing threatens his life or health," the prosecutor’s office said.

Poklonskaya told TASS earlier that Oleg Zubkov, owner of Skazka zoo, would not let veterinaries examine the cub.

"They are even not allowed to take his temperature," she said.

Two white tiger cubs died at the zoo last week and Poklonskaya said that Zubkov was responsible for the tragedy.
