Kremlin Chief of Staff Sergey Ivanov presented Pamela Anderson with a certificate of guardianship of one of Amur leopards
MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. US actress and member of the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) Pamela Anderson has become the guardian of a four-year-old female Amur leopard. The animal codenamed as Leo-38F by Russian specialists was named Pamela.
Kremlin Chief of Staff Sergey Ivanov who held a meeting with Anderson earlier today presented her with a certificate of guardianship of one of Amur leopards. Leo-38F lives in the national park "Land of the Leopard" near the Chinese border. Specialists noted that unlike her relatives, this feline often gets into camera traps. According to photos, she is rather active and is not afraid of cameras.
"Of course, Russia will actively participate in protecting animals though not everything depends only on us but we heard your calls to play a leading role," Ivanov said. "We have been lately trying to play the leading role not only in environment protection but we will try to be leaders in this sphere as well since Russia is the largest country with the most diverse nature," he added.
