Heavy snow in Moscow disrupts flights
Dozens of flights have been delayed, some of them cancelled as the Moscow region has had 30% of a month’s norm of precipitation since Sunday evening
MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/. The snowfall that hit Moscow and the Moscow region overnight on Monday has made adjustments to the work of the airports in the Russian capital. Dozens of flights have been delayed, some of them cancelled.
Sheremetyevo Airport has the greatest number of flight delays. As of 10 a.m. Moscow Time, 25 arriving flights are to be delayed, and 6 will depart behind schedule. International flights to Larnaca and Berlin will be delayed among others.
The situation in Domodedovo is slightly better, with four domestic flights cancelled and one flight departure delayed. The snowfall did not seriously affect the work of Vnukovo Airport, with 6 flights arriving late and 3 departing flights delayed. Another arriving flight has been cancelled. All this applies to domestic flights.
The Moscow region has had 30% of a month’s norm of precipitation since Sunday evening. Currently, the weather front is moving northeast, light snowfall is expected in the city on Monday.
