Some 7,000-8,000 Syrian nationals are currently in Russia and if 100 or 200 Syrians arrive, this will not affect the situation, Federal Migration Service head says
MOSCOW, October 2. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Migration Service (FMS) does not expect a drastic increase of the number of refugees from Syria, FMS head Konstantin Romodanovsky told TASS on Friday.
"I cannot predict any complications [with Syrian migrants]," Romodanovsky said.
"A small increase may happen," he said.
Some 7,000-8,000 Syrian nationals are currently in Russia and if 100 or 200 Syrians arrive, this will not affect the situation, Romodanovsky added.
"In Russia we do not have a Syrian diaspora as Europe has," the FMS head said. "It is easier for Syrian nationals to adapt in Europe, where their expat communities are located."
