International drug chieftain detained in Moscow
The drug dealer who already has a criminal record for illegal drug trafficking was caught red-handed when trying to sell more than a kilogram of cocaine in the Odintsovo district in the Moscow region
MOSCOW, September 14 /TASS/. A chieftain of an international criminal ring specializing in deliveries of Latin American cocaine and European synthetic drugs to Russia has been detained in the Moscow region, the Federal Drug Control Service told TASS on Monday.
"The drug dealer who already has a criminal record for illegal drug trafficking was caught red-handed when trying to sell more than a kilogram of cocaine in the Odintsovo district in the Moscow region. He intended to gain more than 5.5 million rubles ($81,174) from selling the cocaine, which he was hiding inside a prestigious sport car.
According to the Federal Drug Control Service, the criminal actively resorted to conspiracy and worked only with trusted partners. That is why police had to involve the Grom special unit to search for and catch the international drug baron.
"Another kilogram of cocaine, 300 grams of hashish and 2.5 kilograms of the ecstasy (drug) were found in a raid on the drug dealer’s Moscow apartment," the Federal Drug Control Service said adding it continued searching for the criminal’s accomplices.
A huge shipment of drugs, including about 30 kilograms of heroin, were confiscated and 29 drug dens were liquidated in Russia last week, the press service of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia told TASS on Monday.
"From September 7 to 13, employees of the Federal Drug Control Service of Russia choked down several drug delivery channels and liquidated 29 drug dens. They confiscated 235 wholesale shipments, including 27.8 kilgorams of Heroin; 2.5 kilogrammes of hashish; 686 kilograms of marijuana; 70 kilogrammes of synthetic drugs and 31 kilogrammes of psychotropic substances," the Federal Drug Control Service said.
