Russian regional human rights commissioners to support Alyoshki evacuees — Lantratova
According to the ombudswoman, the authorities have ensured that people can reinstate or receive the necessary documents to live in Russia
MOSCOW, November 1. /TASS/. Regional human rights commissioners will provide the necessary assistance to people who left Alyoshki in the Kherson Region for various cities across Russia during the humanitarian mission, Russian ombudswoman Yana Lantratova stated.
"We will also stay in touch with those who left for other cities of their own accord. We are enlisting the help of regional human rights commissioners to ensure that assistance is readily available," she wrote in a post on her Max channel.
Lantratova described how residents of Alyoshki are being helped to settle in after their departure. According to the ombudswoman, the authorities have ensured that people can reinstate or receive the necessary documents to live in Russia. They also helped people open bank accounts in Russia so they can receive financial assistance from the government and gave them SIM cards.
"After what the people have been through, it's especially important to be able to call their loved ones, hear a familiar voice, and tell them that everything is okay," Lantratova pointed out. She noted that the evacuees were also treated to a holiday party.
The ombudswoman thanked the administrations of the Krasnodar Region and Crimea, shelter staff, doctors, psychologists, volunteers, and all those involved in this effort.
