Convoy carrying humanitarian aid heads to Alyoshki in Kherson Region
Civilians will receive all the essentials, including food, hygiene products, medicines and fuel
ARMYANSK /Republic of Crimea/, October 30. /TASS/. A large convoy carrying humanitarian aid has set off for the city of Alyoshki in Kherson Region, a TASS correspondent reports.
A convoy carrying humanitarian supplies for residents of Alyoshki, Kherson Region, has departed for the town. Civilians will receive all the essentials, including food, hygiene products, medicines and fuel.
Russian forces began observing a ceasefire in the Kherson sector at 4 a.m. Moscow time (1 a.m. GMT) on October 27 as part of preparations for the humanitarian operation in Alyoshki. Russia and Ukraine had agreed, with assistance from Melania Trump, to halt hostilities there to allow aid deliveries and prepare for civilian evacuations through a designated safe corridor.
On September 21, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the humanitarian situation in Alyoshki as critical. Shelling and drone attacks by Kiev have prevented deliveries of food and medicine. Just over 1,000 people remain in the town, down from its previous population of 20,000.
