Russian Ministry of Justice begins publishing list of Russians subject to restrictions
The list currently includes 12 individuals
MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. The Russian Ministry of Justice has launched a dedicated registry on its website listing Russian citizens subject to temporary restrictive measures.
The registry currently includes 12 individuals and specifies the grounds for imposing restrictions on each of them.
In an earlier interview with TASS, Deputy Justice Minister Oleg Sviridenko said the ministry would make public a list of Russian citizens living abroad who evade penalties imposed in Russia and are subject to restrictive measures. The registry is to follow the model of the existing register of "foreign agents."
Sviridenko explained that temporary restrictions apply when three conditions are met: a court ruling in a criminal or administrative case has entered into force, the individual evades compliance with the ruling, and the individual is outside Russia.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the law is intended to improve the enforcement of criminal and administrative penalties, uphold the rule of law, restore the principles of justice, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of law-abiding citizens.
