Russian diplomat describes events in Alyoshki as Kiev’s war crime
According to Rodion Miroshnik, Ukraine kills the civilian population, creates an artificial famine and unbearable living conditions
GENICHESK, October 16. /TASS/. The ongoing events in the town of Alyoshki, where Kiev troops kill civilians, orchestrate an artificial famine and create unbearable living conditions, constitute a war crime on Kiev’s part, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik told the Tavria television.
"Our goal now is to strongly appeal to our allies and countries that are closely monitoring these events but maintain a neutral status. They are not seeking to align with either side of the conflict," he said. "However, in this case, we call on them <…> to enforce strict, consistent adherence to the norms of the international humanitarian law, because what is currently happening in Alyoshki constitues a crime."
"It is the killing of the civilian population, it is the creation of an artificial famine, it is the creation of unbearable living conditions," the Russian diplomat added.
Miroshnik recalled that 193 countries have signed the Geneva Conventions, including governments that keep turning a blind eye to the ongoing events in Alyoshki.
In his words, a major information campaign is being waged in order to justify financial support to the Kiev government, whom the Western propaganda portrays as "good" and "mistreated" by Russia.
