There was no upward trend in case numbers over the past 14 days
MOSCOW, October 6. /TASS/. The Irkutsk Region records about 16,000 cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) each week, with no upward trend over the past two weeks, the press service of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) reported.
"About 16,000 ARVI cases are currently recorded in the Irkutsk Region each week, with no upward trend in case numbers over the past 14 days," the statement said.
Rumors previously circulated online that a female employee of an anti-plague institute in the Irkutsk Region had allegedly been diagnosed with plague. Rospotrebnadzor later said the woman had been diagnosed with pneumonia of undetermined etiology.
