MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. Russia's Presidential Grants Foundation is now officially taking applications from foreign individuals and organizations who think their socially significant projects are worthy of a five million ruble (around $60,000) prize offered by the Russian president.

"Applications opened on October 1, 2026, for an international competition offering grants to foreign individuals and non-profit organizations to support socially significant projects. Funding for this purpose was allocated by decision of the head of state," the foundation’s press service said.

Foreign nationals aged 18 or older and non-profit organizations registered outside Russia are eligible to participate. Projects may be implemented over one year, from December 1, 2026, to November 30, 2027. Grants are capped at 3 million rubles (around $36,000) for individuals and 5 million rubles for non-profit organizations. Applications must be submitted electronically through the competition’s official website, pgrants.ru. Each participant may submit up to three different projects, but only one may be selected as a winner.

Applications are accepted in three thematic areas. The first involves creating and distributing public-interest content, including educational, popular science, cultural, family-related and professional materials that promote mutual understanding between Russian society and societies abroad. Both individuals and non-profit organizations may submit projects in this category.

The other two areas are open exclusively to foreign non-profit organizations. They cover wildlife conservation and biodiversity protection projects, as well as initiatives supporting parent, family and patient communities and aimed at sharing experience with partners from Russia.
