Power outages in LPR connected with accident at power system in neighboring DPR

LUGANSK, September 19. /TASS/. Power outages are registered in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) due to an earlier reported accident in the power generating system of the neighboring Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), local residents have been warned about possible voltage surges and temporary power outages, the LPR Fuel and Energy Ministry said in a statement on its Max channel.
DPR Prime Minister Andrey Chertkov earlier announced that power outages and voltage drops were reported in most municipalities of the region following an overnight attack by the Ukrainian armed forces.
"Consumers experience power outages in the LPR following an accident in the energy system of the neighboring region [DPR]. Currently, the republic's energy system has an increased load. Therefore, some consumers may experience voltage drops, as well as temporary power outages," the statement reads.
LPR residents were urged to reduce the use of energy-intensive electrical appliances.
"The headquarters for ensuring the safety of electricity power supplies in the LPR continuously monitors the situation and interacts with relevant services. All necessary measures are being taken to ensure the stable operation of the energy system," the statement added.
