German-Russian Friendship Society supports idea of Russia-US-Germany business forum

Given the steady deterioration of economic relations since at least 2014, the German-Russian Friendship Society welcome any initiative aimed at reviving economic cooperation for the benefit of the nations involved, Torsten Rexin stated

BERLIN, September 18. /TASS/. The German-Russian Friendship Society has supported the initiative to hold a Russia-US-Germany business forum, which was announced by Russian special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and director general of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Berlin branch of the German-Russian Friendship Society Torsten Rexin told a TASS correspondent.

"Given the steady deterioration of economic relations since at least 2014, we, the German-Russian Friendship Society, welcome any initiative aimed at reviving economic cooperation for the benefit of the nations involved," Rexin stated. "At best, they provide an opportunity to make public positions and sentiments in Germany and Russia visible," Rexin said.

On September 12, Russian special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and director general of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Kirill Dmitriev, stated that more than 20 applications to take part in the planned Russia-US-Germany business forum in 2027 have already been received from German companies, said Kirill Dmitriev. According to him, The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has already supported it in Germany. In addition, Dmitriev noted that it was also backed by the US Chamber of Commerce.
