MOSCOW, September 7. /TASS/. Formula·One ex-Supremo Bernie Ecclestone has been arrested in Portugal on charges of illegal arms trafficking, Globo news web portal reported on Monday.

The incident took place near Lisbon. After exiting his private jet, the 95-year-old British national was found to be carrying a gun.

According to Globo, it's not clear yet whether Ecclestone was officially charged with anything.

Ecclestone was the head of Formula One from 1978 to 2017.
